SummarySocial here.security schemes are like a rolling pyramid scheme, where the money promised to retirees requires more than what they've paid in to the system, which requires more and more people’s money taken from them by the government in the future.
Young people don’t have a lot of money when they're starting out, while the people who are older have had time to accumulate assets. And yet, the money is taken from the poor (the young) and redistributed to the relatively more wealthy (the old). The aging population also means that more and more people are retiring, which means that there are less people supporting those on pension, meaning an increased proportional burden for those not retired. The state even takes from the defenseless, taking from unborn children, in order to delay the negative effects of its wasteful spending til the next generation.
So it may occur that a person’s income has been curtailed by taxes and is now dependent on the state. Solutions considered include:
1. Sell state assets and then give the proceeds to the aged – however there are problems with this because the aged do not own government property, and there may be problems executing such a scheme with skimming and bribery.
2. Pay DROs to go back through the records and find lost superannuation money, if there is still any left.
3. Rely on private aid in a society that will now be experiencing economic growth and prosperity far better than ever experienced before
“Entitlement” is a challenge that needs to be broken, and it is a very unhealthy mental state. It is a false argument from morality, which is only broken by a firm and resolute true self.
